If you are planning to travel and take part in any winter sport then you need to get the right insurance cover. Read the following advice, it may help your skiing holiday go even smoother!
Most travel agents or tour operators are unlikely to be able to offer specialist insurance policies such as for skiing, snowboarding and particularly off piste skiing.
Travel agents cannot insist that you book travel insurance through them and it's almost always possible to find a better deal by shopping around, particularly online.
Buying online is by far the simplest and quickest way to arrange, purchase and obtain instant cover.
When you are on your skiing or winter sports holiday…
Make sure you take all your ski and winter sports travel documents with you. Make a separate note of your policy numbers in case of loss or damage to your own copies. It is probably best to leave a copy at home with friends or family - just in case!
Do ensure that you have with you the emergency numbers to cancel your credit cards.
Don't take large quantities of cash, if you have them! Use travellers cheques and/or credit cards. Take a small first aid kit as well as your ski or snowboard wax and tools such as your multitool, edge file, wax scraper etc. |
